Hi,

Having now had sufficient time to recover from the beer festival I am ready to add my comments! What an absolutely fabulous weekend - good company, good beer (well Fosters anyway), good music and most importantly lots of rugby on Saturday. My only disappointment was not being able to watch the vets much as I was playing for the Ladies.

This event is a brilliant way to kick off the new season and not only acts as a team building event for the club but also raises the profile of the club and hopefully attracts new players, supporters and sponsers.

Without the fantastic efforts of people within the club the beer festival wouldn't happen, there aren't fairies waving magic wands and it all happens. People give up their leave, take days of work, give up their days off and evenings to make sure everything runs so well - thank you to all of you. I and many others really do appreciate and understand the efforts you put in so selflessly.

All the Ladies sides enjoyed themselves, they love coming to Ashford (especially to get in the bath!).

Roll on next year and good luck to all sides at ARFC for the coming season.

First game of the season on saturday. Its away to beccahamians, we have arranged a coach to take us up there. So any support is welcome. We have a fantasic crowd at all our home games and it would be great if we could mimic that for away days! I know myself and the rest of the squad would appreciate it. So if if can make it we are meeting at the club at 12.00.

Also we are having a players night this saturday for all players and would be great to see you all there, i think there is a function at the club so we will have to move the drinking games into town, not a problem!!

Cheers

Walshy

I have just posted this and the text box appeared as black text on a white background ... I changed this some time ago - if anyone does not get black on white can they please email me to explain which browser they are using etc. Many thanks.

Absolutely right all round guys and girls. The next seaon holds great promise on all fronts.

Lots of work is needed from all concerned to enjoy this season from the great start that last weekend gave us. From the communications side of the weekend; two chaps from Coventry were disappointed that there was no Rugby on Sunday; but isn't it great that they were there for the third year!!

Enjoy ARFC

I would like to say a big thank you to everybody who helped me at the beer festival rugby tournament last weekend. The music was great and the beer was very good I understand (lager drinker me) but, without help the rugby would never have happened.

Dave Burden, Jack Burden, Kevin Gayson, Bob Gilliver, Vic Horne (jnr), Carolyn, David Clent for getting us 3 society refs and one for the 1st XV match. My thanks to you all.

And for all the clubs that provided teams and raised nearly £800.00 from the rugby alone and plated rugby in very good spirit, I thank you too. Roll on next year!!!
